John Wells  Now (2004) in Scotland (www.armadale.org.uk ) after 29 years in Gloucestershire (Wiltshire, Oxfordshire, Lancashire and Warwickshire before that!) with wife Rosie, who I met a few months after leaving Foxwood.  Retired and enjoying kite aerial photography when the weather and arthritis permit!! I am still interested in family history. My Wells ancestors are from Galphay (1) (2).

David Adamson* was an English teacher at Foxwood who was killed in a pothole disaster, when the cavern he was in flooded.
Ken made a sculpture to commemorate David and the tragedy.  It is meant to represent a man confined in the smallest space possible.

* David Lowe of Group 10 wrote: I knew Dave Adamson, though not as well as did some of the Farm Warden clan. I'd sort of "hero-worshipped" him from afar when he would visit the Foxwood Printing House under the Main Hall stage, to get covers printed for the LUUSS Newsletter. Not too long after that he and another Leeds Uni caver, Ginge Hewson, came to the Farm when I was there with others like Andy Wright and Frank Brearley, and they took us exploring in the area between the Farm and Penyghent. On that day Dave introduced me to the 6-inch geological map of the area, and it was his linking of geology to cave potential that set me on the road that (eventually) led to my thesis and the Inception Horizon Hypothesis of cave origin. I owe him a lot, and even though we were not close friends, I was shattered when he died.

During the building of Foxwood farm we had a walk on Pen-y-ghent. The barn we slept in was cold in winter and I didn't have a sleeping bag so I bought a bottle of whiskey.

About 15 years old, outside our maisonette above the Kentmere shops. We got the Alsation dog because me and my dad were held-up at gunpoint in the shop when I was 14 years old.

I live in Farsley, Leeds, I am a skills trainer in Construction delivering Employment Skills (3 years) to adults and young learners, after qualifying as a teacher following careers in engineering and printing.  My first job was … at Foxwood, in those same classrooms!  The council training base was called Second Chance School, a European project in East Leeds Family Learning Centre which unfortunately lost its funding in 2005.  I was delivering Confidence Building and Performing Arts projects.  I’ve been an actor since 1995 working at the Civic Theatre and now at The Carriageworks with adults in The Cosmopolitan Players and Leeds Children’s Theatre.
